the end...(?!)

|

Yay!!! Finally I made it to blog #70 as well!
Well, actually I'm not 100% happy about this as this also means, that our stay here in the US is nearly over. I really enjoyed the Monday nights in IS449 with you guys. Nevermind, we still have 5.5 weeks left to have some fun. I'm really looking forward to Kyle's and Steve's "Challenge" on Friday!!! Hope to see you there too!

Take care and keep in touch! -Jess

Iteration 3 Review: Music World

|

Hey team Music World!

I really like your mashup (not just because I like everything that's related to music ;-)). Especially the part with the videos is really neat. I guess it was a lot of work to get this video player in your site to work. Wow - good job guys!!!

Hey team Interest Location Finder!

It's nice that you have a real team name now, as I felt like it's always a bit impersonal just to call you " IS696 Group1" ;-). I've tried to review your mashup.
The logon to Facebook and the forward to you actual site worked fine, but than I got an alert box: "Request is not null and that means successfully created XHR or ActiveXObject request!".
So it seems to me that you're still working on this, but you guys are on the right track! I'm sure you'll get all that sorted for your final presentation! I'm looking forward to see your final result!
Good luck!

Pub Searcher - Iteration 3 Review

|

I think the team Pub Searcher have created something to support one of the most important parts in a life of a student. The Pub Searcher team has also proved that Agile methods are really working, as they were trying different APIs and finally they picked the best ones for this great result. I really like the layout and the auto completion for the driving directions!!! I'm proud of you guys ;-))) Great job!!!
(Hope you'll keep this mashup available for our successors - so they have a easy start for good locations ;-)

NoSpace - Iteration 3 Review

|

The NoSpace team had already made a lot of progress by the end of Iteration 2. But now the project seems to be perfect! I like the cute calendar that provides a good overview where something is going on. Unfortunately I don't have a flickr or twitter account, so it was great to have the set up accounts to see how this mashup works!
Great job guys - perfect!!!

Reply to Blogging Issues (Justin McDade)

Hey Justin!

Yes, I know what you're talking about. The same happened to me a few times. I discovered that I only had to go to Manage => Entries, tick all the boxes in front of the posts that are not on your page and then click republish.
I hope this helps will work in you case as well. Good luck!

Btw: The counter on the Learning reamix Fall 2007 page also needs a couple of hours to update the correct number of blogs

JobFriends Iteration 3

|

After a "troubleshooting weekend", we think that we are now all set for the Iteration 3 presentation in class tomorrow. Thank you for your change requests and feedback during the last couple of weeks. This really helped to improve JobFriends step by step.

As we are now able to provide different options for how to use our mashup, we have decided to bring all of this together in one point:

Jobfriends back on track

|

Ok after some hours of work and a long, long phase of trial an error Jobfriends finally back on track, yay!!!!
It turned out that the encoding part in the proxy.php we were using, didn't encode the URL in the way we needed it for the Simply Hired API. We are still wondering why it actually stopped working, as it was working fine last week - but I think we will handle this as a "miracle" and just be happy ;-)
We changed that and now everything seems to be working! Thank you for your understanding.

Debugging JobFriends

|

Hey there!

Sorry for any inconvenience while testing our mashup "Jobfriends". We have discovered that we are having trouble to send the requests to Simply hired correctly. We are currently working on this problem and are also in contact with Simply Hired team to figure out where exactly the problem is as it was working before. We will let you know as soon as we are back on track.

Jobfriends demo version available

|

Actually is for our mashup "Jobfriends" (APSIs: Google maps, Facebook and Simply hired) a Facebook account necessary.
As we don't want to exclude the group of people without a Facebook account, we have created a demo version that uses "static friends" (without using Facebook). We didn't use real names of friends as we didn't want to get into trouble ;-). Go to Jobfriends demo

We are looking forward to receive your feedback!
