Ann Arbor changing all of it's street lamps to LED lights

|

Ann Arbor just announced that they are changing all of their street lamp lights over to LED lights. This is going to save about $100,000 per year. Not to mention it will conserve the overall power consumption of the city; thus, lowering it's carbon footprint.

A nice side effect of this change might also be lower light pollution. When integrating the lights a new system will be in place that will cost an estimated $630,000. You can check out the article in engadget here.
