AIM Alternative, Pidgin - Reviewed

|

Pidgin is an open source piece of software that is used for many different chat protocols. I got really sick of AIM because of the constant updates and the overall performance. AIM is a pretty slow program that hogs the memory much more than it should. On top of that, they have ads built in - I don't want that. I started using pidgin a few months ago and I really like it.

Pidgin has built in spell checking support of a variety of different languages, which is nice. You can also be logged into different chat protocols at once, like AIM and IRC. I give this piece of software my stamp of approval.
