Are web forums going away?

|

No. Web forums have been around for along time and they are here to stay for even longer. They are great because users can speak their mind on the same level as anyone else on the forum. This site has a decent write up on how to pick a forum and gain respect within the community.

The argument against forums is that social networking sites are just better. Plain and simple. I agree, but most social networking sites don't put an emphasis on quality. In forum communities, if you post something that isn't educated you are looked down upon. That is why forums are so great for troubleshooting.
