SteVis last.fm profile for proof. I used to use iTunes to listen to music but it became a heavy app and it now runs slow on my old computer. I now use Winamp - a legacy version. I used to use winamp when I was young but I strayed away from it, not knowing why. Winamp used to be very very light weight and very user friendly. AOL recently bought winamp and there is now a corporate version of it, which I run on my laptop and I actually like it quite a bit. I can use it to manage my iPod and remotely connect to my desktop where my music library is. SteVis I'm writing this in an effort to give some accurate feedback to the faculty in the College of Business. I have just completed the CIS program and I would like to take this opportunity to give you my two cents. I would consider offering a wider range of class choices within the CIS program. Refresh the electives with things like advanced web design, specific programming languages, hardware security, and things of that nature. We have the core set of classes that everyone has to take and that is fine, but more electives would be great. To nitpick, I would consider making IS 380 the same structure as IS 421. So basically cut IS 380 because we don't need to learn how to use Microsoft access - nobody does. We as students are smart enough to learn the schema and learn oracle at the same time. I know that I was underwhelmed. For a second database class It would be nice to make it catered towards the web with something like mysql. SteVis I read that Microsoft just released a tool to block the installation of the service packs for varying amounts of time. I can only believe they are doing this just in case they fail. The tool is catered to businesses who can't afford to lose any productivity (why are they running vista?) so their systems don't crash. Microsoft has a much different image in the public eye these days. When it all boils down, it is still a great company with great products. With all of its flaws Vista still has some hope. It looks great and some features are nice and more intuitive than in XP. SteVis Pidgin is an open source piece of software that is used for many different chat protocols. I got really sick of AIM because of the constant updates and the overall performance. AIM is a pretty slow program that hogs the memory much more than it should. On top of that, they have ads built in - I don't want that. I started using pidgin a few months ago and I really like it. Pidgin has built in spell checking support of a variety of different languages, which is nice. You can also be logged into different chat protocols at once, like AIM and IRC. SteVis digg.com is a news based social networking site. The title "digg" refers to what the users do when they submit articles to the website. In short, the users browse the web and when they find something interesting they submit it to digg and if other users like it they "digg it" and the article gets onto the front page. I've been using digg for about a year now and I think it is slowly getting worse. The quality of the articles has gone down and I think that is because it has become so popular. There are "digg it" buttons on many websites to make it easy to submit articles from that website, which is great, but only if the article is good. Congratulations! I've played around with it for a little on facebook and I've added it to my profile. Everything seems to be working but it is a bit slow to load everything, but that is just a function of all the data that is being collected.
