Carrie Hensel: Creating a Productized Service

|

Even though I had some idea of what Content Management Systems were about I wanted a better understanding. I searched the web and found a broader explanation from Wikipedia. I also found that there are quite a few Content Management Systems listed in Wikipedia, however, Carrie Hensel’s company, Inner Circle Media, is not currently in the list.

One thing that struck me about Inner Circle Media is that they give customers the option of leasing or purchasing the software. I think it’s kind of like leasing a car. It makes sense for some and not for others. Initially, it put me off because there is talk that a major operating system provider may be leasing some of its software and I find that disturbing. As a single user, I don’t want to keep paying and paying for an application. However, after reading this article I think it makes sense for companies to be flexible and allow clients to do what works for them.
