Web 2.0 in Auto Body Repair and Home Building

| | Comments (1)

As with all of the articles I have read, on michiganinovators.org, I find it encouraging when I see how many individuals are finding new ways to use technology to create or improve their business. The article Auto Body Repair and Home Building uses Digital pictures uploaded to a website to keep customers informed about the progress of their car or house. I (personally) don't see this as a necessity because I have found a reputable shop and I don't care to see progress pictures on my car. I just want it done. Also, I was disturbed to hear that when a photo was taken of a vehicle, in order to send a progress picture, it was moved up in the schedule. Apparently, some people do like this service though… I wonder how much it adds to the overall cost? I do like the house progress reports but, if I were building a house, I would probably do that myself.

It has been clear to me for a while now that people are not getting the entire technology story. I think one of the tricks is to try to see opportunity and seize it. Often the initial investment is not exorbitant.
