Call to Action

Since learning some of the psychology behind web design and how people look, I find myself searching for ads on popular sites to compare what I've learned. After browsing Facebook the popular people connector last night, I noticed that all of their ads tell you do do something; the ads have a call to action right at the top. Who knew that if you tell someone to do something they'll actually do it! I've even been fooled by a few ads (I consider clicking on an ad or pop up getting fooled), including my favorite Facebook ad of all time with the action "help sue Kwame".

If I take one thing from this class, it's how I've learned that the web and web pages are products. They sell something, they get you to do something; this strays from my early days of web design in elementary school where I would just make a web page full of useless information and links. Now I know for the future how I manipulate people on the web!
